Like it or not, Clients are always part of the design process.

But design decisions fall outside of the typical decisions they make. That’s why they make design decisions based on aesthetics, the competition, what their spouse thinks, or other non-design criteria.

But ultimately, Design decisions are Business decisions. So helping our clients make the right design decisions is a win/win/win for clients, designers and users.

This is the subject of the talk that I gave at ConveyUX 2018 in Seattle. In this presentation I go through 3 business cases where we had to help clients make different types of design decisions and the tools and techniques we used.
